JoY 15 up and running
e have now set the website for JoY 15, 21 - 22 April 2012 (with our competition on the evening of 20 April). Email if you notice any glitches - we will be adding photos and information over the next few weeks.
The booking forms and full schedule - showing prices - can be downloaded from the 'How to Book' section of the Box Office page. If you can't print these off, a letter containing all the appropriate information will do just as well, please be sure to show your name and postal address clearly. If you do not have the ability to pay by cheque please email for information on alternative payment methods.
Competition details will be announced shortly - send an email if you are thinking of taking part and we will put you on the circulation list.
Early Bird Offer - free hafla place with workshop bookings £90 or above if booked before 15 December.
Sara Farouk's Teaching Egyptian Dance Course will initially be reserved for those booking the full course up to 1 February (apart from ws1 which has more places). After that date individual elements of the course can be booked separately, if they are still available.If you are interested in one of these sessions, please show this on your booking form and we will note your interest in the particular workshop(s) and give you priority for places when/if they are available. NOTE last year this course sold out very quickly so we can't promise!
The bookings I have had at Joy14 and in the last couple of weeks will be processed shortly.

Alla Kushnir
nfortunately, despite assuring us that she had a visa and us buying her plane ticket, we have learned that Alla Kushnir has in fact failed to get a visa, and appears to have been banned from the UK for some irregularity. We do not have the full details, but this will disappoint many of you, and has certainly caused us a major headache.
At this very late stage we have been very lucky to arrange for Suraiya to fill the space so that workshops can go ahead in accordance with our cancellation/substitution policy. Suraiya is a professional international performer based in Poland, she is a multi-award winner (including Belly Dance Congress). She teaches in her own dance academy and extensively abroad - and is a dancer we had been considering having to JoY in her own right at some stage in the future. Suraiya, accompanied by her own drummer, will be teaching the same workshops as we planned for Alla except for workshop 45 which will now be devoted to Suraiya's own personal style.
We hope you will understand that we have done the best we could in the time available and this substitution will be acceptable - we are very grateful to Suraiya for stepping into the breach at the last minute. If you have any issues with this that need to be resolved urgently please email admin@jewelofyorkshire.co.uk (or, if you can't email, phone Chris on 01535 670286). Please do not phone Mandy as she has unforeseen family commitments at the moment and can do without additional calls.

Saturday show and workshop places
e do have some places left for the Saturday show/disco and some workshop places. Email admin@jewelofyorkshire.co.uk if you want to make a late booking - by midnight Wednesday.
After that places will be on sale on Friday evening at the Just Because hafla and during the festival itself. Tickets will be sold on a first come first served basis - so we cannot guarantee what is available. We will accept payment by cash (or cheques) we do not take card payments.
We will not be selling tickets for the Saturday evening show/disco after 5pm Saturday as we need to keep track of the numbers.
